Given the first estimate on the evolution of the main economic information available and the agricultural production on Spain in 2015, published recently by the Spanish Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment, the estimated value of the Agricultural Income for this year is 22.170 million euros, an increase of 1’7% compared to 2014. Meanwhile the value of Agricultural Income per Annual Work Unit (UTA) increases a 4’4%.

On the other hand, the European Office of Statistics “Eurostat” released the data of the different member states of the European Union of the indicator of Agricultural Income per Annual Work Unit in constant terms (known as A indicator and that it’s the harmonized  indicator of the European Union) That indicator has decreased a 4% for the total of the European Union, which contrasts with the increase on Spain

The increase of the agricultural income has its roots on the good behaviour of the vegetable production, with an increase of the production value of 5’8%. The value raised because the prices increased a 13’3%, specially fruits (7’7%) and Green vegetables (18’6%) as production quantities decreased by a 6’7%

It is very important to highlight that the agricultural income has increased despite a fall in the oil industry (-52’2%) caused by the bad weather of the last campaign and the characteristics of the oil production, with strong harvests followed by very weak ones.

Regarding livestock, the sector presents a decrease of 1’5% compared to 2014. On this case, the increase of production (4’8%) has been countered by a decrease of prices of around 6%.
